Emma Lanier
Understudy
© courtesy of the artist and Pieter Bruegel Understudy is a collection of practices from Lanier’s research on the choreomania / Tanzwut of 1374 Aachen, where people allegedly took to the streets and could not stop dancing, or rather could not be stopped. What does it mean to dance it from the back? To dance both roles?
How does archival material inform the body? How does it sound when the second degree is flat or the sixth is raised? What gets resurrected? An undertone, a glance, a murmur, a portal, an outline? Will their moment come?
Free Free admission. 30 seats / priority is given to HZT members and collaborators (internal link) / please write an email to: soda_support@hzt-berlin.de.
