Matteo Haitzmann
Make It Count

A concertformat for jump rope, (expanded) percussion, and modular synthesizer. Matteo Haitzmann explores new concert formats and orchestrations rooted deeply in musical structures, initially appearing idiosyncratic and generating suspicion of artificiality. However, when embraced, they make sense, almost like a logical consequence. This is true for the three instruments in 'Make it count' which individually and collectively simmer on stage. They stand alone, are equal, and simultaneously function as a musical ensemble, band, and sound collective. They produce a sonic world where the body produces sound, and sound becomes physical. 'Make it count' is not an artsy concert, and those who now may smirk or doubt are invited to experience it for themselves because: Regardless of what, it doesn't stop.
