Elena Faki

FEMTOSECONDS

This performance explores ritual as a political and embodied practice. Beginning by glitching the authority and symbolic codes of ritual, it gradually shifts into an experiential dance grounded in the spine, relational attention, and transformation. Through improvisation, objects, and sound, the work weaves together themes of death, rebirth, riot, femininity, queerness, and togetherness. The work asks how ritual might be reclaimed as a common practice and how another way of being together can momentarily come into existence.

Free Admission. Please note: Admission by ticket only. Tickets can be booked 10 days prior to the event.

Ele/na has many names, many nicknames and curiosities. They are inspired by how bodies are, extend, tune in, break patterns, get wild, listen, are together. She loves oranges and mountains. They hate fascists and long winters. She loves atmospheres more than words unless when they write and when they read. They love to be around people; sometimes even when they find it difficult. She always tries to resolve, yet they understand that wisdom lies sometimes in questions rather than answers. They love their friends, mentor and family, and a good sound system.
