SHELTERS _in_direct strike

I am writing on September 30, 2025. In the past three weeks, Russian drones and aircrafts have violated the airspace of four European countries: Poland (September 9–10), Romania (September 14), Estonia (September 19), and Denmark (September 22).

SHELTERS_in_direct_strike is a performance by Ukrainian artist Andrii Romanenko on the topics of bombings, sheltering and war extending beyond its frontiers. Drawing on civilian testimonies and documentation of contemporary warfare, the performance confronts this material through the body of the performer and explores human vulnerability in the face of war. Anchored in open exchange with the audience, it invites collective reflection on urgent questions:

How does war extend beyond the war-zones and what can we do when it reaches us fully?
