Publication Launch

Artistic Research Publication by the MA SODA graduating students & Peter Stamer
Classed Bodies: The Performance of Discrimination in the Arts edited by Dan Bealsco Rogers and Sandra Noeth

Writing and publishing are core practices at HZT Berlin, where artistic and theoretical research is documented, challenged and shared. We are pleased to invite you to the launch of two new publications on Tuesday, 3 November. Graduating students on the MA SODA programme will present their artistic research projects in an open-access online publication. Accompanied by Peter Stamer, an author and dramaturg, they will share insights into the themes, processes and contexts of their performative works, which will be presented live at HZT Berlin in November and December 2026.

That same evening, we will celebrate the publication of the book edited by Dan Belasco Rogers and Sandra Noeth. Titled “Classed Bodies: The Performance of Discrimination in the Arts”, the book asks how class and classism manifest in the body, particularly within the arts and cultural sectors: In what ways is class present in looks, gestures and attitudes? How are assimilation and adaptation staged and rehearsed?

In the presence of the authors, editors and members of the publishing team.

Venue: HZT Campus Uferstudios, Studio 9

Event location: Uferstudios | Uferstr. 23 | 13357Berlin
