Sabine Huschka

DFG-Forschungsprojekt Transgressionen

Dance and Theatre Scholar living in Berlin. Since 2015 she has been head of the DFG research project ›Transgressions‹ at the Inter-University Centre for Dance Berlin (HZT) and guest scholar at the Research Training Group »Knowledge in the Arts« at the Berlin University of Arts. She received her PhD at Humboldt University Berlin with the study Merce Cunningham und der Moderne Tanz (Königshausen & Neumann 1998) and her habilitation at University of Leipzig (2011) with her studies on Wissenskultur Tanz: Der choreografierte Körper im Theater. She has held various guest and substitute professorships in performance studies, theater and dance studies. Her publications include: Moderner Tanz. Konzepte – Stile – Utopien (rowohlts enzyclopädie 2002/2012) and Tanz/Wissen. Choreographierte Körper im theatron. Auftritte und Theorie ästhetischen Wissens (epodium 2019). In addition to her academic work, she is a qualified dance pedagogue and working as a dance dramaturge.
