Kuba Borkowicz

First tattoo, is a duet ritual that I began developing in 2016 in my gallery, Oficyna. I started inviting friends and people who inspire me to consider the surface of my skin as a canvas for their creative input. In exchange I teach them how to make a tattoo. During the process I had conversations about empathy, trust, fear, faith, creativity, language, permanence, death, meditation, body, drawing, memory, diary, collection, representation, reincarnation, pain, masochism, dreams, magic, borders, and I think that the attempt to stage it as a performance may resonate with all of this notions.
