How high are the study fees?

COSTS OF STUDY
The MA SODA, MA Choreography, and BA Dance, Context, Choreography programme are exempt from tuition fees. This applies for every applicant (EU and Non-EU).

FEES PER SEMESTER
There are some contributions per semester for social welfare (Studentenwerk), the student union executive committee (AStA), administration, and the semester ticket, which entitles students to use all public transport facilities like Bus, U- Bahn, Tram, S-Bahn. The charges amount to about 312,89 EUR. A receipt of payment has to be presented before enrolment.

 

APPLICATION FOR THE MA CHOREOGRAPHY

For applicants for the MA Choreography  an  application fee of 30 € is charged by the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst "Ernst Busch". This fee is refunded if you are admitted to the study programme and enroll.

Can I send in my application after the deadline?

For legal reasons, applying after the deadline is NOT possible. Your next opportunity to apply again is the following year.

The texts are only available during the application period.

 

 

Is there an age restriction for the study courses?

There is no age restriction for applying.

 


Which level of German / English is required?

BA Dance, Context, Choreography

Basic knowledge of the English language (sufficient to understand English instruction); for foreigners from non-German speaking countries, the additional proof of sufficient knowledge of the German language. The courses take place in German and English; basic knowledge of English is necessary; foreign applicants from non-German-speaking countries must prove sufficient knowledge of the German language. Minimum requirement by final application date: proof of language ability equivalent to level A2. By matriculation date: proof of language ability equivalent to level B2.

 

MA Choreography

You must have a sufficient knowledge of the German language to the point that you are able to understand instruction and texts (level B2), as well as write complex texts. During the application you already have to provide language skills of level 2A. If your language proficiency cannot be determined during the admissions examination, a proof of language skills in German (level B2) must be presented at the point of enrollment in September, at the latest.


MA Solo/Dance/Authorship (SODA)

Since the language of instruction is English good written and spoken English is required and will be tested during the entrance procedure.

Non-German speakers at point of entry will be expected to obtain language skills through German courses for foreign students.

 

Where can I submit my application in person?

For the MA Solo/Dance/Authorship and the BA  Dance, Context, Choreography correctly addressed applications can be handed in at the porter's lodge at Einsteinufer 43, 10587 Berlin-Charlottenburg, Mon-Fri between 8 AM and 7 PM. 

 

For the MA Choreography it is not possible to submit your application in person.
